A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNERS

Welcome to 2 Norman Street, West End.

To you she might be just another beautiful old Queenslander that you are browsing through, or just an address that you have seen in the paper. But to us she is a home with a soul whom we call 'The Old Girl'.
We believe her to be approximately 120 years old, and we are only the 3rd family to own her. There has been very little alteration to her original structure, other than the back which is an extension to the old home.

The garden has evolved over the last 20 years to provide a harmonising framework to the home. It requires very little maintenance, with automatic reticulation and little grass to mow! Your weekends can be spent lying in the hammock with a good book, like we have enjoyed for many years.

Unlike many other areas of Townsville, mozzies are not a problem here. The Mango (which no longer fruits) is over 100 years old, and will still be standing strong for at least 100 more. The Norfolk Pines are a similar age and have seen her through many a storm. The house is situated in what JCU have described as 'the tunnel' - so is protected from oncoming inclement weather by its position in relation to Castle Hill. Also we have lovely year-round breezes which flow from the ocean straight around and over the hill.

This neighbourhood is very quiet and friendly - most are home owner/occupiers, and we have shared many a cuppa over the years.

The home's position is ideally located 15 minutes walk each way from the new and improved Castletown and the city. And who needs the gym when you have the Strand and the Hill literally on your doorstep? Public transport, recreation/park facilities and good little local schools are just around the corner.

She has truly been the perfect home for us over the last 20 years, but now it is time for her to welcome a new family to have her as their own, and to enjoy and love her as we have.
