Suburb Profile - GULLIVER:
Named after Ben Gulliver, nurseryman, who in the1890s was the proprietor of the Acacia Vale Nursery and Pleasure Gardens which were located where the Villa Vincent Home now stands. He also had gardens at Sussex Street, Hyde Park and Stuart. The layout of the suburb was designed by Brisbane architect Karl Langer. This area was previously known as Armstrong's Paddock.
The very central suburb of Gulliver is home to the Mooney Street & Warrina outlets, offering a variety of day to day shopping, plus food and personal care retailers. Only moments away are Castletown, Stockland and the unlimited shopping at the new Domain Central. Schools and hospitals are also within close proximity, including Currajong Primary, Pimlico High, The Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, as well as the Mater & Park Haven Hospitals. Recreational facilities include Warrina Cineplex, Gill Park and the wonderful Anderson Park Botanical Gardens. If it is sports that you like, you are walking distance to Warrina Park, and only a short drive to the Townsville Rugby Club.

Gulliver is now on the radar of those who appreciate solid homes on large allotments, central to everything.
